RAEES (2017)

Language       -       Hindi (India)
Genre             -       Crime
Director         -       Rahul Dholakia
*ing                -       Shah Rukh Khan (Raees), Mahira Khan (Aasiya), Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Majmudar I.P.S)

PLOT
Raees lives by the principle of his mother that no job is small, and no faith is greater than business unless it does not cause any trouble to anyone. He starts to work for a local gangster, Jairaj along with his friend, Sadiq in the smuggling of alcohol in the state of Gujarat where it is banned. He soon rises in his business and parts away from Jairaj. He grows phenomenally and becomes far away from the reach of other gangsters, he is transforming himself into a single most powerful man, but in each phase of his business he faces the strong opposition of Inspector Majmudar whose sole purpose is the elimination of crime. So, the battle between Raees and Majmudar goes on.
Raees will be a great experience for those who love the old Bollywood Gangster movies, because it has all the element of action, romance (no great romance sequence is present) and punch scenes for the hero, recreation of the 70s and 80s were also good. Art department does a good job. Overall, it’s a watchable flick but cannot be a suggestion for anyone who wishes for something different.

Raees is a 2017 crime movie by Rahul Dholakia. Before the release of the movie there was a rumour that the movie is about the real-life story of Abdul Latif, a gangster in the Gujarat. But the filmmakers rejected all the news. It was also in the controversy for including Mahira khan in their cast, because the tensions between India and Pakistan were in its peak due to Uri Terrorist Attack. The producer Farhan Akthar still includes her with their team.

Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri is asked to take the command of 23rd Battalion of Punjab Regiment and is assigned to the military post of Loungewala. The higher officials believe that the enemy would try to attack only through Sangawala posts and so gives only 120 men to the Major. The Army takes over the post of Loungewala from Border Security Force and allowed Captain Bhairon Singh with some of his men to remain back as they had good knowledge of the area, as the Indian Army is developing the fortress, the mechanized infantry of the enemy attacked them. Major Kuldip Sing and his men must defend the Pakistani Regiment till dawn to get support from Air Force.
Border is a 1997 war movie directed by J. P Dutta and dedicated it the memory of his brother Sq. Ld. Deepak Dutta. The movie is very well designed according to its war genre it has all the elements to raise the patriotic feelings. As it uses mostly the real Hawker Hunter Aircrafts, jeeps, arms, and ammunition which give more genuine feel while watching it. Even if it is a quite lengthy movie doesn’t make any kind of lag due to its actions and song.
It was based on the real-life incident of the Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri who defended the Indian Posts from Pakistan attack. In actual incident India had lost only two of his men, while it has been exaggerating casualties for dramatic purposes. All the songs in the movie are good and the song “Sandese Aate Hai” become a big hit and Sonu Nigam becomes a household after it.
