Kargil is a 2003 war movie by J. P Dutta. It is based on the real events of the
1999 Kargil War, where the brave act of the Indian Army made the intruders to
fall back. This is considered as one of the greatest form of bravery shown by
any Armies in the world, as the Indian soldiers fought against enemy in a great
height who were able to watch the entire movement of the Indian Army. Many
sequences in the movie truly depicts the actual events, events like the act of
Manoj Pandey and Vikram Batra who were awarded Param Vir Chakra (India’s
Highest Gallantry Award) etc.
This
movie is one of the lengthiest movies in the history of world cinema with a duration
of 4hours and 6 minutes. It uses real arms and ammunition and even depicts the
Bofors Artillery. The movie develops with background of showing each regiments
effort, sometimes may feel it as cinematic elements, but they are all the real
incidents happened during the war time. It is one of the biggest multi-star movie(in
Bollywood) of that time and was not able to do well in the box office. The
movie will give the complete of idea of Kargil War and shows the real terrain
of Kashmir sector.
