PLOT- Leon is a photographer who lives with his waitress girlfriend “Maya”, he is looking for a chance to get into the artistic industry. For getting attention for his pictures, he started exploring the night life of the city. One day he follows some three punks into a subway station; when the gang started to attack a girl, he defends himself and saves her. But in the next morning he finds the missing news of the same girl. He explained his experience to the cops, but they didn’t listen to his words, so he started to find the mystery by himself. The real fact is that the girl’s missing in not an unusual incident but a part of series of missing cases.

MY VIEW-The Midnight Meat Train is the movie adaptation of Clive Barker’s short story of the same name. As a usual Bradley Cooper movie, you can’t find party, romance or anything in this movie, because it’s a serious Dark Slasher Thriller. There are many hardcore blood splashing scenes with horrific brutality. You will think its ending as the same old cliché way, but its not. Some characters in this movie have Indian names like “Maya”, “Mahogany” (I had never seen any Indian with such a name). Performance off all the actors were top notch making it as a memorable thriller, especially Vinnie Jones character “Mahogany”; his eyes can even give you nightmares. But if you keenly post-mortem the movie some illogical scenes and situations can pop up.

VERDICT-Clive Barker who is usually famous for his series of short stories especially of horror nature, among all his book to movie adaptation many are considering this as the best work. But it was box office bomb during its release time. Barker complained about the strategy of “Lionsgate” for the poor performance of the movie. But later it became a cult classic and many critics place it in a higher position than “Hellraiser” and “Candyman”. So, it will be a treat for fans who loves Slashers and thrillers.
